July 15 – Homer, AK

We have a free day to explore however we choose. One of our friends shared that they have a low tide day to explore for sea creatures. The three of us ventured to the beach, not the one we are overlooking from the RV. We walked for what seemed like miles. First to get from the parking spot to the beach and then down and out the beach. We found some interesting sea creatures know as anemones. Our best find for the morning was the octopus, or maybe the person that found the octopus and shared with us.

After the beach trip, we returned to the RV for a bit. In the afternoon, we took a little road trip through town up the mountain side to an overlook that looked over the Homer Spit Bay. The view was amazing!

For dinner, we had a travel meeting for our next days travel adventure. Our wagon masters (Denise) made homemade seafood chowder. It was great and for desert, we got ice cream!

At our dinner meeting, we took possession of our caravan’s mascot Dawson! We found that Dawson also likes ice cream and chocolate is safe for him to eat. Back at the rig, Dawson helped us do some laundry, he even jumped in to take a bath himself. He also got introduced to our dash zoo which consists of Tiffin Turtles, Tatanka Jr, Aunt Janet, and our 4th of July collection.

Later, Winnie and I went for a little walk and we took a few photos of flowers, I Love the Alaskan Fireweed (Purple flowers). I have been having fun playing with the camera settings.

Stay tuned for more of our adventures…
