July 14 – Homer, AK
The day started a bit rainy, that however did not stop people from walking the beach in front of us looking for sea creatures during low tide.

Later when it dried up, we went exploring in Homer to various places. This included looking at the hardware store for the perfect washing machine drain hose. Wrong, we did not find what we needed. We did come up with a new plan for a temporary fix. It involved Marine Putty, Duct Tape, and a better hose clamp.
We explored more on Homer Spit, and some of the shops on the boardwalks. We also went back out of town to see more of the overlooks and visitor center that we passed coming into town. Judi used her eagle eye to catch an Eagle in the tree right by her. She got some amazing photos.
We had dinner out tonight, we went for fish at the Boardwalk Fish & Chips. We found our friends Mike & Diane, and Kevin & Jennifer also having fish for dinner. We joined them at a table and then Doug & Peggy joined our table too. I had their Halibut, it was not bad, but I think I would have preferred the Cod. A sad fact about this restaurant, on August 5, 2026 it had a fire. The owner has said, they will be back Summer of 2027!
Stay tuned for more adventures…
