Today is day 30 since leaving Michigan, it is a travel day. We traveled from Chicken, AK to Tok, AK. Yes, we made it too Alaska on day 28!

In the photo, you can see our collection that rides on the dash, first and most importantly is Janet who has the best view in the house! She is accompanied by our glass Tatanka, our stuffed Tatanka, our Tiffin Turtle collection and most recent addition our Chicken for becoming honorary members of Chicken, AK.

I don’t have pictures because I drive and Judi takes photos when possible, but the weather has been not so nice and great photos are not available.

The roads into Tok from Chicken were better… better meaning they were not mud, they were a mixture of gravel and pavement. We had some dips-doodles and pot holes, all were manageable. The best part was when we made the turn to the new road for about 12 miles of nice pavement!

After we arrived in Tok, we headed to a fueling station that offered free RV washes with a fill up! Yes, we need to loose about 50 lbs of caked on dirt and mud. We washed our rig and car, then we helped a super nice couple on our tour wash their rig. The ‘family’ came together from 3 other rigs and started helping them, we got a system down, Judi was spraying it wet, Dan was getting the top edges, Doug was in between and I was getting the bottom bay doors. Then Judi was replaced by another person. We had a total of 6 of us washing this one rig. Two hours later Judi and I left the station to get checked into our campsite for the night.

We had dinner with a group of great people from our caravan. Judi and I have both had a craving for pizza, that was fulfilled tonight! All in all, we had a successful day.
