We have officially hit the road on our way to Alaska. Technically, we are still in Michigan for a couple more days, regardless the journey has begun.

While we were loaded and ready to leave for stop one, we received a phone call from a family member to notify us of the passing of my Uncle Clyde. Clyde had been ill for a very long time, back in January Dad flew from Florida to visit Clyde because we did not expect him to last much longer. May you now rest in peace Clyde and give my Mom a hug from all of us.

Judi, Winnie and I loaded into Tatanka along with our sister Janet for another “Sisters Adventure”, it would not be complete without Janet.

Stop #1 was Meijer to top off the diesel tank in Mt Pleasant, we left home with approximately 3/4 of a tank. The great plan was to redeem our $1 off per gallon on a maximum of 30 gallons, that is a $30 savings! We had a technical challenge and did not get the coupon redeemed this time, and we only needed 24-ish gallons. Stop #2 was our first nights campground. We were in St Ignace at the Lakeshore RV Park. We like this campground because it is quiet, the manager is friendly and we get a view of the ships crossing the Straights of Mackinac. Only one problem, the blood sucking mosquitos!

Miles traveled: 277.5
