On this day, we leave Fort Nelson, BC and head to Liard River, BC. This is a 189 mile trip. Not too much to see in Liard River, but they are home to the Liard Hot Springs. I walked over to the hot springs and gave them a test. Can you say P U, rotten eggs and the mosquitos could carry you off. It was approximately a one mile walk from our campsite to the park, down the boardwalk through the swamp. Along the boardwalk, I was able to see Bullwinkle, the bull moose lying in the swamp. I also was able to see Mrs Bullwinkle on my way back to the campground. I don’t have any pictures of the hot springs or the moose because I did not want to take my phone with me.

On our trip down the road from Fort Nelson, we travel along with a couple we met in our group. We stopped at a place that is known for their cinnamon rolls. I made mine last several days, eventually it was beyond eating. Tatanka Jr was trying to help eat the cinnamon rolls. We found many places think they have the best cinnamon rolls, sadly the best I know were made by my mom.

We stopped along the way at a beautiful lake called Muncho Lake. The water was so blue and surrounded by the mountains. Along the lake, we found some flotation planes for Natalie!

Our new friends have a dog named Izzy, she and Winnie have become good friends and get so excited to see each other.

Just over a guard railing, I caught part of a Mountain Goat, the photo was pretty bad, but what the heck, I was driving!

A reindeer appeared on the side of the road, we stopped to take photos but then it decided to run up the road with us, so I got a little video. He was pacing at about 10 mph and panting. Unfortunately, the video will not load on to my web hosting platform, but it will go up on Facebook!

Don’t forget the photo of the heart shaped stone we found, it was pretty cool. We only took a photo and left the stone for others to enjoy as we did.

Stay tuned for more Alaska Bound stories…
