Our adventure is coming very soon! Much work has been done to prepare Tatanka, the motorhome, for the long road ahead. Coordinating the stops from home to Dawson Creek, BC took a lot of research determining what we wanted to stop and see, how many nights on the road, when to book campsites and so much more. Then deciding upon new “Shoes” a.k.a. tires for Tatanka and where to purchase. At the end of the day, the tires were purchased at Caledonia Farm and Grain. The old tires were sold to a trucking company, I guess they are suitable for a spare tire. Then it was time for full service at Freightliner, that was an experience… I will have to give the guys at Caledonia Farm and Grain kudos for finding some maintenance that needed to be dealt with before the big trip!
Now, that the route is planned and maintenance is completed, we are ready to hit the road! We will begin with adventures in Michigan’s Upper Penisula, then off to Theodore Roosevelt National Park and eventually up to Banff and Jasper National Parks. We have some overnight stays here and there but I will save the details for later. If you want to follow along, check back for updates and pictures. Lets hope the stories are great stories.
I failed to mention as we get Tatanka packed and loaded, Winnie also has to have maintenance! She has to have a Certificate of Health to get into Alaska. The fun fact, the vets office says it is only good for 10 days! The hard facts, she goes to see them on Friday and we will not even be into Alaska until the later part of June!
