July 18 – Valdez, AK

Today we travel from Palmer, AK to Valdez, AK – 260 miles. Our drive included steep downgrades with tight curves. We drove past Matanuska Glacier, Wrangell – St. Elias National Park, the pipeline, Bridal Veil Falls, and Horsetail Falls.

Image this, Valdez is the northern most point of the Pacific temperature rainforest. Do you ever think of Alaska as a rainforest? Well guess what, it is and we had rain every day. One thing in this rainforest area, you also have glaciers. Thanks to those glaciers, you also have gorgeous waterfalls.
