Stewart, BC & Hyder, AK – July 30
Today we are traveling to Stewart, BC – 242 miles.
We are staying at Bear River RV Park which is the most normal campground we have had in a long time on this trip. We did not have our own fire pit, but we did have a community fire pit in the center which our group took advantage.
Our group of 6 took off to go look for bears at Clements Lake. We did not see any bear, but that is just fine. It turns out this is a little swimming hole with a dock and raft to swim out to. No, we did not go swimming. However, there were people tent camping at this park. We like to call them a cheap dinner for the bears, should they arrive. Which reminds me, Judi and I call people out on bicycles rolling bear snacks! Sorry, that was a little squirrel moment.

We also went downtown Stewart, looking for a liquor store. Nope, not for Judi and I but the other 4 in our group wanted to get some supplies. The stores, don’t open until after 4 PM. The tourist information center was open!

Diane had to pose for a photo as a Mountie. Have you ever seen a Mountie with 4 legs? This one does. Ha Ha Ha…
This travel day our friends Susan and Dan captured an AWESOME photo of my backside, of Tatanka, not mine. I absolutely love this photo with the snow covered mountains straight ahead of our driving path. Sorry, Jo we did not drive up that snowy mountain and did not obtain a rock for you!

After travel time, my girl Winnie loves to have snuggle time. We have to sit in the recliner together. We have to hold hands too, she switches from the front left to right and back again and again.

Hyder, AK is just on the edge of town.
Stay tuned for more adventures…
